The Center was founded in Novi Sad in 1997 as a humanitarian, non-partisan, non-governmental and non-profit organization (citizens’ association). It was founded by people of different nationalities in an effort to mobilize the positive energy of the natives and refugees population in Novi Sad and Vojvodina, and for the sake of better mutual acquaintance, understanding, solidarity and joint activities to open perspectives for the development of this environment and the affirmation of democratic values and the rule of law.
Objectives
- To provide concrete legal assistance (giving advice, drafting various legal submissions, obtaining documents from countries of origin)
- To prepare information, analyses, legislative and other legal initiatives for the purpose of launching national, regional and international advocacy actions
- To remove legal and other obstacles to access to the basic human rights of refugees and other displaced persons.
