Additional information
Please note that in Italy:

  • A long-term residence permit is for individuals with a stable and long-standing residence in Italy and provides greater security and rights (usually >5 years, up to 10).
  • A temporary residence permit is for short-term situations, depends on individual needs (such as work, study, etc.), and must be renewed periodically.
  • Compared to the previous year (2023), the category “Other legal grounds” now includes also the category “Unspecified” which results in a percentage increase of the former.
